You’re almost done with your throw, woohoo! It’s the home stretch now, so I’m going to help you out with some meditative crochet that will leave you with TONS of texture!

Materials + Tools

  • 275 yds (251 m) of CYC 4 worsted weight yarn, shown in Red Heart Super Saver in Oatmeal
  • 5mm / H crochet hook
  • Scissors

Stitches + Abbreviations

  • Chain (ch)
  • Stitch(es) (sts(s))
  • Single Crochet (sc)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc) – Tutorial available here
  • Back Post Double Crochet (BPdc) – Tutorial available here
  • 9-Loop Puff Stitch (puff) – Tutorial for a 7-Loop version here, simply repeat Step 1 a total of 4 times for 9-Loop variation

Finished Size

50” W x 5” H (127 cm W x 13 cm H)

Gauge

5 in (12.5 cm) square = 19 stitches x 10 rows

Notes

  • This pattern is written in US Terms and set for Intermediate skill level.
  • The photos below depict a small swatch of this panel alone, as at the time of this writing, no other patterns were available yet.
  • Size/Tension Adjustments: increase/decrease hook size or add or remove paired repeats of R2-3 in to adjust height
  • This pattern is worked flat in turned rows.
  • Turning chains at the beginning of rows DO NOT COUNT as a stitch

Written Pattern

This pattern is the 10th panel of the Harmony Throw CAL, worked on top of the two transition rows of single crochet. The photos below depict a small swatch of this panel alone, as at the time of this writing, no other patterns were available yet.

Body

R1: Ch 2, dc in each stitch across. Ch 2, turn.  (192)

NOTE: The right side of the blanket should be facing you when you work this and every odd-numbered row.

R2: Dc 2, BPdc 2, *dc, puff, sk 1, dc, BPdc 2, repeat from * across until 2 sts remain, dc 2. Ch 2, turn.  (31 puff, 64 BPdc, 66 dc)

NOTE: Photo and video tutorials for FPdc, BPdc, and the Puff stitch are linked above in the stitches section

R3: Dc 2, FPdc 2, *dc 4 (into the dc, ch-1, puff, and dc from the previous row), FPdc 2, repeat from * across until 2 sts remain, dc 2. Ch 2, turn.  (128 dc, 64 FPdc)

R4-9: Continue repeating alternating R2 and R3. At the end of R9, ch 1 (instead of 2) and turn.  Stitch counts remain the same. 

R10: Sc in each stitch across. (192)
